How does the Million Shades beach shade work?
The Million Shades Beach Shade is powered by the wind. As little as 3 mph wind is all you need to float the shade effortlessly. Almost all beaches have sufficient breeze to power our shade. How spacious is the interior of your beach shade?
Unlike others, ours offers a cavernous interior, with canopy dimensions of approximately 13 feet by 18 feet (400cm by 560cm) and a shade height of 9 feet (2.7m). This provides ample room for relaxation, socializing, and comfortably accommodating up to 10 adults.
Does your beach shade provide sun protection?

How easy is it to set up and take down your beach shade?

Can tall individuals stand comfortably under your beach shade?
Absolutely! Our beach shade offers a generous shade height of 9 feet (2.7m), allowing even taller individuals, including NBA players, to stand comfortably without the canopy touching their heads.
Is your beach shade portable?
Yes, our beach shade is lightweight and portable. It's easy to transport to and from the beach or other outdoor locations, allowing you to enjoy shade wherever you go.
What is included in the shade package?
Carry Bag -Heavy-duty bag with handles and shoulder strap. It is made from durable Oxford material.
Horizontal Frame Pole - High strength, lightweight collapsible aluminum horizontal pole with spring cord. Each end of the pole is equipped with flexible gooseneck connectors.
Two Vertical Frame poles - High strength, lightweight collapsible two aluminum poles with spring cords. Please note that vertical poles are slightly shorter than the horizontal pole.
Ultralight Nylon Shade Canopy - Ultra lightweight, high strength Nylon canopy with UV coating.
Three Sand Anchors - 2 required sand anchors for setting up the shade and 1 extra sand anchor to be used when repositioning the shade for change in wind direction (if required).
What are shade canopy and poles are made of?
The canopy is made from high-strength lightweight nylon with UV coating and the frame is made of professional-grade corrosion-resistant aluminum and aluminum alloy.
What if the wind changes direction?
Our beach shade canopy is equipped with two anchors for stability of the vertical poles, with a third optional anchor included for added convenience if you need to reposition the shade due to a change in wind direction. If the wind shifts, we recommend using the third anchor to reposition one of the vertical poles.
Here’s how you can do it:
Secure the Third Anchor: Screw the third anchor securely into the sand at a new position where you want to reposition the canopy. Ensure the distance between the vertical poles remains the same once the repositioning is complete.
Adjust the Vertical Pole: Remove one of the vertical poles from its original anchor and reinsert it into the newly installed third anchor. This allows you to adjust the angle of the shade's horizontal bar to be perpendicular to the new wind direction.
This simple adjustment ensures that your canopy remains stable and properly oriented to provide effective shade for you and for your loved ones.
Can I use the shade on any beach?
Wind-powered shades are permitted on nearly every beach and are considered safer compared to pole umbrella shades. However, to our knowledge, the following beaches may not allow wind-powered shades on certain days due to concerns that they may obstruct the lifeguard's view of the beach:
Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach allow only traditional umbrellas between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Horry County, SC allows only traditional umbrellas year-round.
Rehoboth and Bethany Beach, DE allow only traditional umbrellas year-round.
Long Beach Township, Beach Haven, and Manasquan, NJ allow only traditional umbrellas year-round.

WARNING: Keep all flame and heat sources away from this fabric. MATERIALS ARE NOT FIREPROOF OR FLAME RESISTANT. The fabric will burn if left in continuous contact with any flame source.
NEVER leave children unattended inside the shade. Anchor your shade securely to provide additional security from changing climatic conditions. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS COULD CAUSE ASPHYXIATION AND DEATH OR SERIOUS AND PERMANENT INJURIES.
WARNING: Keep clear of overhead power lines. Do not set up your shade under trees because of potential lightning strikes or falling tree limbs in inclement weather. Secure anchor screws as tight as possible to prevent property damage or personal injury. For best results in windy conditions, position the shade directly into wind. Enlist the help of at least one other person to assist you when it is time to assemble the shade. Select a level site clear of rocks, branches, and other hard or sharp objects to install your shade.
WARNING: The shade fabric is rated UPF50+; however, UV exposure can still occur due to scattered and reflected radiation. Always apply sunscreen liberally.
WARNING: Always secure the aluminum pole of the shade when in use as deep as possible into the anchor screws. Do not use shade in wind conditions over 20 mph or gusting. Handle with care when both pole ends are not secured. Keep away from open flames or heat sources. Failure to follow these warnings could result in serious injury.
WARNING: Do not allow children to assemble the shade. Do not leave children unattended inside the shade. Failure to follow this warning will cause death, serious injury, or permanent disability to your children.
Exercise caution when using electric devices in and near shade.
Although shade is constructed to rigid specifications, periods of wind or rain soaking the ground may loosen the anchor screws and cause them to become loose in the ground. THIS WILL WEAKEN THE RIGIDITY OF THE OVERALL STRUCTURE and should be corrected immediately
